Drone Window Cleaning Near You

What is drone window cleaning?

A cleaning drone is connected to the ground by a tether. A pump on the ground pushes water, and sometimes a soft-wash cleaning solution, up the tether to a spray nozzle on the drone. Many operators finish with purified (deionized) water so glass dries without spots. Lucid Bots' Sherpa is one tethered cleaning drone that several operators say they fly.

Because nobody is hanging off the building, drone window cleaning can replace some of the scaffolding, swing stages, boom lifts, or rope access that taller buildings usually need.

Which buildings it suits

• Multi-story offices, hotels, condos, and apartment buildings with large glass areas.
• Elevations that are hard to reach with a lift because of landscaping, slopes, or setbacks.
• Ground floors and small storefronts are often still faster with a pole or by hand. Ask whether the crew does both.

Limits to know

• Weather: wind and rain can stop a flight. Ask how the operator handles reschedules.
• Detail work: spraying and rinsing is not the same as hand-scrubbing heavy buildup, paint, or stickers.
• Tight or busy sites: overhangs, trees, wires, and foot traffic can limit where a drone can fly.
• Airspace: locations near airports or under temporary flight restrictions need extra planning.

Privacy: can cleaning drones see into windows?

Cleaning drones are built to spray and rinse, but most carry a camera so the pilot can fly. If privacy matters, ask the operator what the camera records, whether footage is kept, and whether they can schedule around tenants and notify them before the job.

What drone window cleaning costs

Published commercial rates: DroneWash+ lists $0.10 to $0.40 per sq ft and says minimums usually run $500 to $1,500. Exterior Drone Washing lists $0.12 to $0.25 per sq ft of glass, with $0.75 to $3.50 per pane as a reference for small storefronts. Vista Drone Cleaning lists $0.12 to $0.25 per sq ft. Your price depends on height, glass area, access, and condition, so get quotes.

How to hire a drone window cleaning crew

• Drone cleaning operators need FAA authorization; chemical spraying may fall under Part 137. Ask your operator for their certifications.
• Ask for a certificate of insurance. Listings here show self-reported Part 107 and insured flags; Soar-n-Wash does not verify them.
• Ask for a test clean on one elevation or a few panes before a full contract.
• Confirm water type, runoff handling, and who cleans the ground floor.
